Avalon officials announce expanded hours for drop-off.

Avalon’s Department of Public Works has announced expanded days and hours at the trash and recycling center at the Avalon Public Works Yard’s 15th Street entrance. The center will be open seven days a week year-round so residents and visitors can drop off trash and recycling at their convenience.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, when the center will be closed.
“This provides a tremendous opportunity for people to get rid of trash and recyclables when it fits into their schedule,” Avalon Public Works director Bill Macomber said in a press release. “This will also be a great service for people who leave Avalon during a weekend and do not want their trash curbside for days at a time. Our staff will be happy to take the trash and recyclables any day of the week to help keep properties, and the entire town, clean and green.”
The Avalon Department of Public Works offers free information on how to properly dispose of trash and recycling materials, rigid plastics, metal and other debris. Call 609-967-7697 or visit the department office at 13th Street and Dune Drive in Avalon.
