Oh Baby, What a Parade!

The Johnson Family Circus was presented with the award for “Dressed to the Nines.”

The sun came out on Aug. 3 just in time for Avalon’s baby parade. Participants paraded down 21st Street in decorated strollers, wagons, bikes and floats for the most adorable event of the summer. Participants lined up at 21st Street and Ocean Drive and paraded to Veterans Plaza with Avalon Chamber of Commerce president John O’Dea and “Miss Avalon,” Julia Magill, leading the way.

Awards were given for a variety of categories, as well as participation medals and prizes to all who joined for the fun afternoon. Following the awards ceremony, the Eleven Eleven band took the stage and performed into the early evening. The Avalon Baby Parade is held as one of the many events hosted along Dune Drive for the weekly Thursdays on Dune. Stay tuned next summer for a great schedule of family-fun events and live entertainment!
