Letter from the Editor

Dear Readers:

September? Seriously? How can that possibly be? I’d swear it was just Memorial Day weekend – wasn’t it? Where did summer go? I guess that just proves that time really does fly when you’re having fun. Wow! What an amazing summer – and it was just what we all needed: sun-drenched days on the beach, warm evening breezes punctuated with sunsets ablaze over the bay, and loads of great times and memories. I think we can all chalk up the Summer of 2021 as one to remember, for all the right reasons.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Seven Mile Beach for your family vacation, and especially for your continued patronage and support of our family-owned and operated businesses. It’s the generations of families who have chosen to call Avalon and Stone Harbor their summer home away from home that combine to make this our very special place. My sincere appreciation to all of our advertisers – they’re the people who allow us to bring you each and every issue of Seven Mile Times.

Thanks, too, to you, our readers. I understand that you have choices and I sincerely appreciate the fact that you’ve chosen to make Seven Mile Times the most popular publication in Avalon and Stone Harbor. We love exploring the island and bringing you interesting stories about the people who love these towns.

I know fall won’t go quite as fast as this summer did. But before we know it, we’ll be getting ready for our holiday issue, and the island will be transforming into the very special place it becomes for the holiday season. If you haven’t already, you should make plans to be here for it.

So, at least for now, enjoy the endless summer. The weather is usually great throughout the fall and the water is still warm. The fish still bite and there’s plenty of time to create even more wonderful memories here on Seven Mile Beach.

Stay safe and enjoy the fall!
