GRACE LOWE’S FAMILY CELEBRATES HER 90TH

Grace Lowe celebrated her 90th birthday with a family brunch Sept. 21 at Isabel’s, the Avalon café and bakery owned by her granddaughters Justine and Rhianne Lowe. The Rev. Dr. David Montanye of the First United Methodist Church of Avalon gave a blessing and then the whole family shared memories, thoughts and many laughs about Grace’s life with poems, stories and photos. Grace has a home in Avalon on 71st Street and another in Newark, Del. She grew up in Lower Delaware and attended Caesar Rodney High School and Goldey-Beacom College. Grace and her late husband, J. Warner Lowe, were married for 56 years and bought the home in Avalon more than 30 years ago. Grace enjoys playing bridge in Avalon and Stone Harbor and also volunteers at the First United Methodist Church’s Christmas Bazaar. Grace’s family loves visiting her at the shore, and some of her grandchildren have even lived with her while working on the Island over the summer.
