Dear Readers:

Welcome to the summer of 2021! July is without a doubt my favorite month of the year. Sun-drenched days, and is there any better place to be than on our beaches on a gorgeous July afternoon?

Once again we have an awesome issue for you with lots of great reading about the Seven Mile Beach.

Don’t forget to stake out your spot for the Fourth of July fireworks displays planned for Avalon and Stone Harbor this year. We have all the details so that you can begin your planning. And speaking of planning, we have a listing of all of the events this month in both towns that you just can’t miss.

We’ll tell you all about the Wolfington family and why we believe that they are the first family of hospitality in Avalon. Then once again we go Hollywood, this time with Stone Harbor’s Greg Lingo as he tells us about his movie, “Last Call.”

Seashore Ace celebrates 75 years, and those kinds of anniversaries don’t happen by luck. Find out the secrets of their amazing longevity. And we’ll also bring you up to speed on Fr. George Reilly, OSA. He’s been away from the Seven Mile Beach for several years but we bring you up to date with him.

And speaking of longevity, how about Mike Smith? He was an Avalon lifeguard back when Seashore Ace was a relatively new business. Now, some 50-plus years later he’s still actively competing in triathlons.

We’ll also examine the legacy of Presley Braun, a young person of the Seven Mile Beach who left us far too soon. If you never had the pleasure of knowing Presley, take this opportunity to learn a little about this special young man.

All of that plus all of our regular features including Must Haves, Here’s the Dish, Smilestones and a review of some recent graduates.

So, settle back in a comfortable chair and bring along the July issue of the Seven Mile Times. You won’t want to miss a page!

Stay well,
