Sturdy Support at Turtle Release

Sturdy Savings Bank was on hand for the annual kindergarten class terrapin release in June and added its financial support. The bank supported the Stone Harbor kindergarten class’ cookie fundraiser for The Wetlands Institute’s Terrapin Program by matching the funds the class raised selling turtle-shaped cookies. Bank representatives also got to watch the children release baby turtles into the marsh at The Wetlands Institute.

The check presentation included (from left): Michael Clark, Sturdy business development officer and interim manager of the Avalon and Stone Harbor branches; Wetlands Institute mascot Scute; Dr. Lisa Ferguson, Wetlands Institute director of research and conservation; Gregory Matuson, Sturdy president and CEO; and Samantha Zanolini, kindergarten teacher for Avalon/Stone Harbor School.
