Association of Pickleball Professionals

Avalon becomes an official tour stop for the Association of Pickleball Professionals right on the heels of Labor Day. The inaugural APP New Jersey Open will feature top tour professionals, a senior pro tournament, and an amateur division so locals and visitors can compete with each other. The event will include vendors and other attractions. It will be live streamed to a worldwide audience, and may be broadcast on a major television network.

Art Workshop: Furry Pets in Soft Pastels

Bring your beach chairs, blankets or towels and enjoy the last summer concert of the Thursdays at Surfside Series with the Peter Mayer Group. Mayer, based in Nashville, is the lead guitarist in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band. This week’s concert is sponsored by the Avalon Free Public Library. Beer, wine and snacks will be for sale by the Avalon Chamber of Commerce.

Get ready for a night of fall fun during Avalon’s annual Trunk-or-Treat event! A costume parade, hayrides and delicious fall fare – caramel apples, anyone? – make this a hit with all ages. Cars must be parked no later than 4:30pm.

Seven Mile Beach Trick-or-Treating
5-8pm
Residents, make sure to register your home for the Trick-or-Treat route and someone from the Stone Harbor Recreation Department will drop off a wooden pumpkin to mark your house as a part of the festivities. Kids and families – pick up your maps at the 82nd Street recreation building and get ready for a night of fun!
