Restaurant Profile: Bobby Dee’s Rock‘N Chair Restaurant

Bobby Dee’s Rock’n Chair Restaurant is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year. It was 20 years ago that the DiPeso family acquired the Rock’n Chair and added “Bobby Dee’s” to the name that was already known and loved throughout Seven Mile Beach.

Avalon has always been a significant place for the DiPeso family as Marie’s father had a grocery business in town dating back to the 1950s, Sam’s Market.

Gina and Bob Jr. operate Bobby Dee’s Rock’n Chair with their daughter Alexa and son Bobby. Extended family is also involved, making it such a special team of operations, including Bob Jr. and Gina’s oldest daughter Danielle’s husband, Sean. Gina and Bob Jr. welcomed their first grandchild this spring, Summer Kate! Gina’s brother Robbie works in the kitchen and his wife Kathy works behind the bar. Both of their kids, Jake and Kylie, work at the restaurant as well.

Says Gina: “There’s always something fun happening when you come to the restaurant, whether it’s live music, great food, signature cocktails, running into your favorite employees, or seeing familiar faces that you’ve met here. We work hard to make each experience memorable for anyone who walks through our door.”

And there no place they’d rather be.

“There’s nothing like living down at the shore,” says Bob, whose family also owns Bobby Dee’s Casino Arcade in Wildwood and Dee Developers. “There’s a unique beauty to the island of Avalon and its small-town charm, as well as the people we have met inside and outside of the business.”

Bobby Dee’s Rock’n Chair is open seven days a week. We recommend its signature espresso martini.
