Starting in the late 1800s and lasting until 1978, a spectacle began where horses and their riders would “dive” at the far end of Atlantic City’s Steel Pier into a pool, when the site was known as “The Showplace of the Nation.” Learn about the people and animals involved, and the act’s vibrant history.
