Days Gone By

A hippity, hoppity Easter! Easter has always been the unofficial start of the season here on the Seven Mile Beach. And that holds true for the year we’re going back to here. It’s April 1975 ... that’s 51 years ago, more than a half century. Here is Avalon Mayor and Mrs. Armacost with some of the preschool winners from Avalon’s annual Easter egg hunt. Recreation director Marjorie L. Zook reported the largest crowd ever in Avalon for an egg hunt. And we’d love to hear from any of these preschoolers, who are middle-aged now and probably surprised to see themselves. Please email us at info@sevenmiletimes.com, and we’ll be glad to give you a copy of this photo.
