Days Gone By: 1990 Avalon Beach Patrol

Since August is the month that we’ll see both the Avalon and Stone Harbor Beach Patrols compete for the South Jersey Lifeguard Championship, it’s about time that we revisited these two guys: Craig Whitehead (bow) and Mike Cras, who were three-time South Jersey champions (1991-93). Here they are working out off 32nd Street, circa 1990. Craig, or “Whitey” as he is known, is still a lieutenant on the Avalon Beach Patrol. Good luck, teams!
