As the daylight hours dwindle and the crowds on the beach pack up to leave, we find ourselves reminiscing on yet another happy summer. If only we could bottle up that joy and carry it with us into the fall and winter months ahead.

Beach days may be winding down, but summer isn’t over just yet. In fact, with the crowds thinning and the beach a little quieter, this might be one of the best times of year to settle into the sand with a good book.

Backpacks are packed, pencils are sharpened, and a new school year is just around the corner. But that doesn’t mean summer reading has to end. There’s still plenty of time to stretch out on the sand, curl up on the porch, or sneak in a few chapters before bedtime with a book you want to read.
