Holiday 2025
The holiday season is meant to be joyful, yet for many it’s a stretch of exhaustion disguised as celebration. Between disrupted sleep, endless commitments, travel, and sugar-laden traditions, it’s no wonder we start January feeling inflamed, sluggish, and ready for a “reset.”
As I sit down to write today, the government shutdown is on Day 16. Three days ago, the Middle East peace deal was signed, and there’s growing hope that the war between Russia and Ukraine may finally come to an end. Isn’t that what this time of year is supposed to inspire? Peace and happiness?
The most wonderful time of year is now upon us. Some people are filled with excitement and anticipation, while others carry the mental load of endless to-do lists (and checking them twice!). Holiday traditions with family and loved ones are now underway, and for many of us, this is truly a time of great joy.
Endless Summer 2025
Endless Summer has so many great connotations. To me, it is a state of mind. Perhaps you think of it as a lifestyle of perpetual warmth and sunshine, popularized by the 1974 movie “Endless Summer.”
Does summer really have to end?
Labor Day arrives, and suddenly the beaches quiet down, the days shorten, and school buses replace surfboards.
But here’s the truth: Summer isn’t just a season. It’s a state of health and vitality.
As another memorable summer comes to a close, we face the reality that a change of seasons is once again upon us, and with it perhaps a change in routine, schedules, or daily activities. You may be saying goodbye to your beach sunsets and pulling out your cardigans, or packing up your sand pails and filling your school bags.
August 2025
It’s a vibe. Contemporary. Bold. Serene.
Uncluttered spaces seamlessly coalesce around a secret courtyard oasis and stream toward bay views. Long hallways that spill into large rooms quieted with natural tones, refined with onyx accents, soothe in the way that makes you want to linger over a morning coffee, sink into sumptuous sunset seating, bask in the natural wonder of this beautiful island.
“I think I can, I think I can.” That signature phrase from the classic little train holds more power than one might realize.
There’s a reason we read “The Little Engine That Could” to young, impressionable minds: Its message of optimism and determination to overcome challenging situations applies to all of life’s hurdles.
This summer, there’s one health topic everyone seems to be buzzing about: metabolic health. Whether you’re hearing about GLP-1 medications, seeing people tracking their glucose with CGMs, or noticing more conversations around fasting and muscle mass, it’s clear: Metabolism is having a moment.
As I write this, it’s the longest day of the year, which is fabulous, especially when you’re down the shore and on the beach. I had a chance to sit back, relax, and do basically nothing over the past 10 days after undergoing a total hip replacement.
July 2025
Where were you on May 7? It’s not a date that lives in infamy, but for many this year, it was one of frustration. May 7 marked the day the REAL ID requirement went into effect if you wanted to fly or enter any federal government building. It may feel like the deadline arrived suddenly, but the REAL ID Act was actually passed into law by Congress in 2005.
If January is for resolutions, July is for reinvention.
There’s something magical about the middle of summer. The days are long, the sun is warm, and nature is in full bloom. Whether you’re reading this with sandy feet under a striped umbrella or sipping coffee on your porch at sunrise, July offers something rare in our busy lives: a natural pause. A reset.
Are you finding yourself burdened by the media these days? If so, you’re not alone. According to recent studies, 45% of Americans report feeling stressed by the news at least once a week.
June 2025
Memorial Day weekend isn’t just the unofficial start of summer – it’s a golden opportunity to hit the reset button on your health. Whether you’ve been pushing through burnout, feeling sluggish, or simply want to use the long weekend to kick-start better habits, you can make powerful changes in just three days.
Worry. Nerves. Stress. Fear. Anxiety is everywhere right now – so prevalent that it is even the title of a song on the top 10 of the Hot 100. But as can happen with hot topics, sometimes the more we talk about it, the further we get from truly understanding it. So, what exactly is anxiety?
As I sit down to write this article, it is early May. The buzz over the last month has been about tariffs, and the question is how they will affect you. President Trump had dubbed April 2 as Liberation Day. Well, do you feel liberated?
Spring 2025
As the island wakes from its winter slumber, there’s no better time to refresh your surroundings and embrace the beauty of coastal living. This season, we’ve rounded up the must-haves from local experts in home and design who are ready to help you reimagine everything from your front porch to your favorite cozy corner.
Regardless of your age or what you are trying to accomplish, begin with the end in mind.
What motivates you? When you were younger and wanted to learn to play the guitar, you might have visualized playing guitar like Eric Clapton. This might have driven you to practice every day, seeking success.
As the season shifts from the dormancy of winter to the vibrant renewal of spring, many people feel a sense of excitement and possibility. The longer days and budding flowers bring the promise of new energy and growth.
